>> The Cartographic Heritage Archives are developing a Map Archive in two directions: The traditional analogical archive of printed maps and the digital map archive, which is of main concern in Archives' policy. The Archives collect maps of any type, with national and international interest, covering various periods and styles of map history.

Digital technologies and processing are applied to map archiving and documentation.

The Cartographic Heritage Archives are developing expertise for harmless and facsimile-quality digitization of vulnerable antique maps of great value.
